  Abstract:  Today, the Fathers of the Church are experiencing a quite remarkable renewed interest in the French University. What is interesting regarding the works of the Fathers is the prominent place occupied by Scripture. In our cultural and scientific framework, the writings of the Fathers have much to gain when they are approached under the requirements of a real historical-critical method. The patristic exegesis and critical exegesis of Scripture are therefore now more than ever in a situation of complementarity and mutual enrichment. On the one hand the interest of historical questions will never be ignored by patrologists, on the other hand the biblical exegesis has opened itself recently towards literary issues, relatively close to the problems familiar to the Church Fathers.

RESUMEE. L’actualité de l’exégèse patristique. De nos jours, les Pères de l’Église connaissent un regain de l’intérêt tout à fait remarquable au sein de l’Université Française. Ce qui est intéressant en ce qui concerne les oeuvres des Pères c’est la place prépondérante qu’y occupent l’Écriture. Dans notre contexte culturel et scientifique les écrits des Pères ont à gagner quand ils sont abordés selon les exigences d’une véritable méthode historico-critique. L’exégèse patristique et l’éxégèse critique des Écritures se trouvent donc aujourd’hui plus que jamais en situation de complémentarité et d’enrichissement mutuel. D’un coté l’intérêt des questions historiques ne sera jamais ignoré par les patrologues, de l’autre coté l’exégèse biblique s’est ouverte plus récemment à des problème littéraires, relativement proches aux problématiques familiaires aux Pères de l’Église.
